On November 12 and 13, the European-based Postcode Lottery Group made a significant impact at Ontario’s Charitable Gaming Conference. They introduced the audience to their unique community lottery format, which the Canadian Postcode Lottery Foundation is eager to bring to Ontario.

In the Postcode Lottery, neighbors play and win together because their postal code forms part of their lottery number. This innovative approach not only fosters community spirit but also channels funds back into local communities through charities and good causes

The conference, hosted by the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA) and Commercial Gaming Association Ontario (CGAO) was a vibrant gathering of commercial operators, charities, government partners, and gaming suppliers

The event was graced by the presence of two ministers on the first day. Attorney General Doug Downey and Minister Stan Cho both addressed the audience, highlighting the thriving charitable gaming sector in Ontario. One initiative alone is set to generate an impressive $100 million CAD for charities this year.

Executives from Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) emphasized the remarkable success of charitable gaming in the province.
